Mark Abberley currently serves as the Director of Strategy and Operations at NEOM since January 2022. With extensive experience in sports consultancy, Abberley was previously a Partner and Senior Advisor at International Sports Advisory - Portas Consulting, focusing on national sports policies and strategies for various stakeholders. As CEO of British Taekwondo from 2016 to 2018, Abberley led significant organizational transformation. Prior to that role, as CEO and Executive Director of England Boxing from 2011 to 2015, Abberley contributed to the sport's best Olympic performance in a century. Early in the career, Abberley held management positions at David Lloyd Leisure, AECOM, and in golf and leisure investment firms. Abberley holds multiple degrees from Loughborough University, including a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management.
