Michael Shannon

Michael Shannon is an experienced hotel management professional currently serving as the Pre-Opening & Operations lead for NEOM Hotels since May 2021. Prior to this role, Michael was the General Manager at Hyatt Regency from October 2020 to April 2021, and held various senior positions at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including Regional Vice President for Hotel Openings in the EAME/SWA region, where oversight of pre-opening activities was a key responsibility. Michael's extensive career also includes over two decades at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, beginning in January 1995, where multiple roles involved managing pre-opening activities across various hotel brands and regions, with a significant focus on the Middle East. Earlier experience includes management roles at Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Michael holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Management Studies from Wolsey Hall College and Brunel University and has completed professional development programs at INSEAD.
