Safwan B. has extensive experience in risk management, beginning with a role as Customer Service Executive at Scotiabank from July 1999 to October 2004, where complex problem resolution and customer transactions were essential. Following this, Safwan held a position at State Street from January 2005 to May 2006, overseeing settlements for debt and stock securities. Safwan then joined Ernst & Young from May 2006 to May 2017, advancing from Senior Consultant to Senior Manager in Risk Advisory Services, focusing on the development and implementation of risk management frameworks across various sectors. In May 2017, Safwan transitioned to SIPCHEM as Corporate Risk Management Head, advising on integrated risk management frameworks and serving as secretary of the Executive Risk Management Committee. Currently, Safwan is the Manager - Head of Energy Portfolio Risk Management, Performance & Reporting at NEOM, starting March 2023. Educational qualifications include a program from Columbia University on enterprise risk management and a degree from Carleton University.
