Zai Chang

In their most recent role as the xVantage Innovation Director at DNAnexus, Zai led multiple teams to drive customer success and adoption of the company's bioinformatics platform. They also served as a software engineering manager, overseeing the development of high-quality products for the FDA and ensuring compliance with FISMA and FedRAMP standards.

Prior to their time at DNAnexus, Zai founded RecycleVision, where they focused on improving recycling rates through real-time feedback and customized IoT devices for smart bins. They also founded Zaia Design Limited, where they designed and launched Maplets, a popular offline GPS-enabled app that featured in the App Store's top rankings.

Zai was also a co-founder of nephosity, where they developed the Jack Imaging iPad app for medical image streaming and annotation. Following their undergraduate studies, Zai attended UCLA from 2001 to 2003 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Afterward, Zai returned to UCLA and pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Design Media Arts from 2003 to 2005.
