Ryan Esplin

Ryan Esplin is a Senior Consultant/Principal at NERA, where they have been employed since 2024. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Economist and Director of Economics at the Australian Energy Market Commission from 2018 to 2021. Ryan's earlier experience includes working as an Economist at Frontier Economics (Asia-Pacific) from 2016 to 2018 and as a sessional academic at Macquarie University from 2012 to 2016, where they taught various economics subjects. They hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Griffith University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis from the University of Sydney and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Economics and Econometrics and Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
