Tom Shields

Tom Shields is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in competitive intelligence, analyst relations, and product marketing. Currently serving as Senior Director of Competitive Intelligence and Analyst Relations at NetApp since October 2005, Tom leads teams to enhance competitive positioning and industry advocacy while supporting sales initiatives. Tom's leadership in analyst relations has driven significant savings and industry recognition. Previously, Tom held roles at NetApp, including Director of Industry Analyst Relations and Head of Cloud Product Marketing, contributing to successful marketing strategies and partnerships in cloud services. Earlier experience includes positions at SGI, First To File, and Sun Microsystems, complemented by an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a Master's in East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia.
