Deon Smith

Deon Smith currently serves as the Hospital General Manager at Netcare, a position held since November 2023. Prior to this role, Deon managed Life Entabeni Hospital as Hospital Manager from May 2022 to September 2023 and held various hospital management positions at Busamed, Life The Glynnwood, and Life West Coast Private Hospital between 2017 and 2022. Deon's earlier experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer at Life Occupational Health from 2011 to 2017. Deon began the career in healthcare management as a Financial Manager at Life Leagae Private Clinic from 2003 to 2004 and has extensive experience in hospital management across multiple institutions. Deon holds a Master's Degree in B Comm Honours and is a Chartered Accountant (SA), with a Bachelor's Degree in B Comm from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and completed high school at Hoerskool Voortrekker Pietermaritzburg.
