Carsten Wengel

Dr. Carsten Wengel is the CEO of Netcetera since February 2023, previously serving as Head of Sales & Distribution and Head of the EMEA Region at Giesecke+Devrient from April 2017 to February 2023. Dr. Wengel held various leadership roles at IBM, including Vice President Strategic Business Development for DACH, Vice President of Enterprise Sales for Central Eastern Europe, and Director of Sales for Poland & Baltics, focusing on cloud solutions and industry transformation. With over 14 years at IBM Deutschland GmbH, Dr. Wengel specialized in insurance consulting and led significant teams in sales and delivery. Academic credentials include a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a PhD from The University of Göttingen, complemented by graduate studies at Cornell University.
