Chafik Moalem

Chafik Moalem has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Chafik began their career in 1987 as a Software Developer at Hydrotec GmbH, followed by a role as a Software Developer at GMI GmbH from 1990 to 1996. Chafik then worked as a System Analyst/Developer at GeVaSyS GmbH from 1997 to 2000.

In 2000, Moalem joined AIXPLAIN AG as a Senior IT Consultant, where they played a key role in the conceptual and technical design and implementation of new functional modules in the central data warehouse for mobile subscribers and billing of T-Mobile Germany. Chafik later became the Business Development Manager at AIXPLAIN AG, exploring and penetrating different industries with applications of Human Language Technology, with a special focus on the industrial application of speaker-independent robust command and control speech recognition.

In 2002, Moalem took on the role of COO at AIXPLAIN AG, where they cofounded the company and set the technological foundations for several successful products. Aixplain AG was eventually acquired by AppTek Inc in 2004.

From 2004 to 2008, Moalem worked as the Head of Research & Development at Perdictum GmbH & Co. KG, overseeing the design and development of a voice-enabled device used in various industries. Chafik also introduced the concept of "move-by-voice" in the logistics field and successfully integrated a specialized deep freeze capable Bluetooth heavy-duty headset.

In 2008, Moalem joined Tawasul Translations L.L.C. / MenaCast as the Software Development Manager, responsible for managing the software development team and the software development life cycle for two complex software systems related to media monitoring and analytics for broadcast TV and the internet. Chafik led the technical team in all technical aspects during in-house development and rollouts at customer data centers.

Moalem also briefly worked as a Consultant at AppTek and was a member of the business planning and foundation team of Tawasul Translations L.L.C.

Since 2014, Moalem has been working at Netcetera, initially as a Senior Project Manager & Consultant and later transitioning to the role of Head of Delivery.

Chafik Moalem completed their education from 1987 to 2001 at RWTH Aachen University. During this time, they pursued a degree in Dipl.-Inform. (equivalent to MSC) with a focus on Computer Science as their major and Medicine as their minor.
