Over three decades, Prem has been at the forefront of Technological innovations and was instrumental in conceptualizing and achieving scale through many disrupting ideas.

In the Banking and Financial sector, Prem lead the most extensive IT Outsourcing growth rate by taking a fledgling USD 25 M Million practice to USD 1 Billion in 5 Years through organic growth. This industry-leading growth was accomplished by building a Global Team together quickly and through path-breaking innovation in solution offering. The first core capital market process offshoring, the first outcome aligned engagement structure that was Win-Win. The first “Run the Business” support strategy that went on to become a standard in the tech sector.

For the Pharmaceutical Industry, Prem designed the first PDA-based Detailing & Field Force Management platform deployed across global leaders and continues to serve as the core of the sales force management across many countries. The same was also the medium of field force automation is one of the largest global Consumer Products companies and a few international players in this sector.

The most extensive, most prestigious & highly secure program of India’s Government was the “Unique Identification Program”- Aadhar. This was delivered under Prem’s role as the Chairman of the MSP in charge of the Project. This has covered over 1.2 Billion Indians by giving them a unique identification card and the standard proof of identity to which various services are tied.

As an executive mentor and strategic advisor, Prem helps organizations align people, technologies & business development to their core strategy, then execute the same through appropriate active governance & participation.

His various other corporate roles included, Group CEO of Apollo Hospitals Group, the largest Hospital Group (50+ Hospitals, 10 K Beds, Over 1500 Pharmacies, 75 Clinics & Health Insurance), and member of several executive teams, including as the CEO of the most extensive Computer Hardware & Systems Integrator company, National Chairman of the IT-ITES sector in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the national industry body and think tank & President of HCL Technologies.

Prem is also the advisor & executive mentor to the Board for India’s largest Employee Assistance Program (EAP) company, which is growing exponentially and has been in forefront of Emotional Wellness that touched over 3.7 Million Lives, a platform that has helped prevent over 4500 acute depression actions, through a robust Suicide Prevention Protocol. He is also advising a Full Stack Technology resource company, a global RPO & few consumer product companies in their e-commerce journey. Between his Mentor / Investor companies, he sees two potential Unicorns emerging.

Prem has a diverse portfolio of investments, directly and through the auspices of The Chennai Angels, mentors budding entrepreneurs at Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC), an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT – Madras) initiative, and is a Charter Member of TIE, Chennai. He has been an independent Director in various listed and unlisted companies and the Technology, Consumer Products, and Health-Tech companies’ advisory board.

Prem is an ardent sports lover, especially Cricket and amateur dabbling in Psephology. He is presently authoring two books, one on the dynamics of the changing Business to Business landscape & the other collecting anecdotal learnings for business.
