Amer Ather

Amer Ather is a Senior Performance Engineer at Netflix since May 2013, focusing on optimizing streaming business costs through benchmarking and performance enhancements. Concurrently, Amer serves as a Part Time Faculty Instructor at UC Santa Cruz, teaching software and system development courses related to Linux technologies. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Principal Engineer at Oracle Corporation from February 2010 to May 2013, contributing to significant innovations such as ZFS and dynamic tracing during an 18-year tenure at Sun Microsystems, where Amer held the position of Senior Staff Engineer. Amer holds a B.S.E.E in Electrical Engineering from both The University of Toledo and NED University of Engineering and Technology.
