Mike Galassi is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and systems management, currently serving as the Director of Member Experience Core Systems at Netflix since December 2017. Over the years, Mike has held various titles at Netflix, including Director of Personalization Application Engineering and Director of Engineering for Search & Engagement, overseeing backend systems that enhance content discovery for millions of users. Prior to Netflix, Mike served as Engineering Manager for Search Systems at Amazon, where innovative engineering solutions were implemented to optimize the search experience. Earlier roles include Global Search Experience Manager at Premier Farnell, Senior Software Engineer/Architect at JC Whitney, and Software Engineer positions at the United States Department of Defense and Cardinal Health. Mike's military service includes a 12-year tenure in the Illinois Army National Guard. Mike holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Illinois State University.
