Scott Milton

VP of Engineering at Netlist

Scott Milton began their career in engineering at Netlist in December 2003. Scott quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a consultant in 2010 and director of engineering in 2006. In their current position as VP of engineering, Scott is responsible for schedules and budgets for all engineering developments, including the HyperCloud DIMM, NVvault, Flash, and Specialty DIMM. Scott has also led the qualification effort for a 16GB DDR3 HyperCloud rank multiplication DIMM at IBM and HP, and managed the production release of the ExpressVault PCIe based non-volatile storage card as well as a DDR3 based Non-Volatile DIMM.

Throughout their career at Netlist, Scott has been instrumental in several new product developments, including CF, SD, and USB modules, a rigid flex board stack assembly for high density memory modules, an innovative heat spreader design for FBDIMMs, and a non-volatile DIMM (NVvault) which transferred data from DRAM to flash in the event of system failure. The NVvalt was a key technology innovation for Netlist and culminated in a qualification win at Dell. In addition to program management and technical contribution on this development, Scott also acted as the primary customer interface with OEMs.

As engineering manager, Scott was responsible for the oversight of electrical/mechanical design, circuit board layout, and verification testing, scheduling and resource management, and the institution of a formalized design process flow. Under their leadership, the team specialized in the design of high density, high performance, memory modules for the OEM server market, including RDIMMs, UDIMMs, SODIMMs, MicroDIMMs, and FBDIMMs assembled with SDR, DDR, and DDR2 memory components. Scott also qualified the first VLP module at IBM.

Scott Milton has a MSEE from the University of Southern California in Computer Networking and a BSEE from the University of California, Los Angeles in Electrical Engineering. Scott also went to MVHS.

Scott Milton reports to C.K. Hong, CEO & co-Founder. Some of their coworkers include Jerry Alston - Executive Advisor for HybriDIMM Engineering, Paik Ki Hong - VP of Operations, and Gail Sasaki - VP and CFO.
