Amar Lama

Head, Network Planning at Netomnia

Amar Lama is the Head of Network Planning at Netomnia. Prior to this, they were the Fibre Access Network Planning Manager at Trooli from November 2020 to January 2021. Amar has also worked as the Core/Distribution Network Planning Lead at Community Fibre Limited from September 2018 to November 2020. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team designing a core and distribution fibre network combining existing infrastructure (PIA, Dark fibre) and new build infrastructure to connect OLTs for FTTH deployment. Amar also liaised with Project Managers, Implementation Managers and build contractors to ensure smooth delivery of projects. Amar has also quality checked planning pack documents (Wayleave, BoM, Civils, Cables, Splice schematics) to ensure all packs handed over to Project managers are up to company standard. Furthermore, they have acted as a Subject Matter Expert for PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) product to ensure any PIA related fibre planning and build works are in compliance with Openreach processes and engineering principles. In addition, Amar has developed and planned FTTH solution for Single Dwelling Units (SDU) for both Underground and Aerial scenarios.

Amar Lama has a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary University of London, and A-Levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and ICT from Drayton Manor High School.
