Emory Anderson has had a diverse work experience. Emory started their career at the U.S. Navy in 1989, where they worked as an Information Warfare Officer for 20 years. In 2004, they transitioned to the IRS and held the position of Security Analyst before becoming a Senior Security Analyst/Technical Lead in 2009. In 2006, Anderson became the President of NetSage.

Emory Anderson's education history begins in 1984 when they attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, but did not complete a degree. From 1985 to 1989, Anderson attended the United States Naval Academy, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. After a gap, Anderson pursued further studies, earning a Master of Science in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1995 to 1998. Lastly, Anderson attended the Naval Postgraduate School from 2001 to 2002, where they obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer/Network Security.
