Thor Wallace

Thor Wallace is the current SVP & CIO at NetScout Systems. Prior to joining NetScout, Thor served as an IT Executive at Medtronic from April 2016 to January of 2017. During their time with Medtronic, Thor played a key role in leading elements of the SAP implementation for MITG. Thor also partnered with business leaders to develop IT strategies and roadmaps to provide new capabilities for MITG operations. In addition, Thor managed a large (>100 employees and contractors) global development and support team located around the world.

Before their tenure at Medtronic, Thor served as Vice President at Biogen Idec from August 2009 to March 2015. While at Biogen Idec, they partnered with business executives to develop functional IT strategies and roadmaps resulting in major transformations to the organization - including faster product launches, streamlined processes in commercial and corporate functions, and improvements to quality and compliance systems in manufacturing and R&D. Thor also drove the consolidation of three separate IT development, delivery, architecture, testing, maintenance and support organizations into a single highly effective team. As a result of their leadership, the unified and simplified work processes improved customer satisfaction, globalized IT functions, and significantly reduced the costs to operate and maintain over 500 applications.

In addition to leading large scale ERP enhancements, application integration, data warehouse and analytics development projects that resulted in significant improvements to financial and commercial insights, Thor also managed a team of about 100 employees and over

Thor Wallace has a BS from Cornell University and a Master's in Computer Software Engineering from Brandeis University. Thor also has a Master's in Accounting from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Thor is certified as a Certified Management Accountant from the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants and as a Certified Public Accountant from the Ohio State Accountancy Board.
