Star Garza

Star Garza began their work experience in 2010 as an Intern at Communities In Schools of Central Texas, where they assisted with tutoring and mentoring elementary-aged children. Star then joined Community Family Centers as a Youth Mentor, where they planned and organized learning activities, tutored and mentored children, and provided guidance on career and college preparation. In 2011, they worked as a Child Protection Specialist at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. From 2013 to 2015, Star served as the Advocacy Coordinator at Child Advocates, Inc., followed by a role as a Service Coordinator at Texana Center from 2015 to 2016. In 2017, they worked as a Program Coordinator at River City Youth Foundation before joining Travis County Sheriff's Office as a Victim Service Specialist Sr. In 2021, Star became a Cooperate Recruiter/Inside Salesperson at Watters International Realty, and in 2023, they transitioned to the role of Marketing Coordinator at Netspend, where they currently work.

Star Garza completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Development and Family Science from The University of Texas at Austin, studying from 2007 to 2010.
