Matt Walker

Matt Walker is a Digital Director at Network Rail since September 2025, bringing extensive experience in the transport and travel sectors, particularly in the implementation of Smart ticketing solutions across the UK with a focus on ITSO-based smartcard technologies. Previously, Matt served in various roles, including Associate Partner and Managing Consultant, at PA Consulting from May 2009 to October 2025, and undertook multiple roles throughout the software development lifecycle for large public sector clients from 2009 to 2022. Early career experiences include a hospitality role at Delta Sun Peaks Resort Hotel and an industrial placement at PA Consulting, where responsibilities included managing software testing for the National Assembly of Wales. Matt holds a 2:1 degree in Computing and Management from Loughborough University, completed in 2008.
