James Williams

James Williams has extensive work experience in network engineering and automation. In their current role as a Senior Network Automation Engineer at Network to Code since October 2020, they design and builds automation platforms tailored to customer specifications. This involves utilizing a combination of commercial products, open-source solutions, and custom-written software.

Prior to their current position, James worked at Rackspace from 2012 to 2020. James held multiple roles during their tenure, including Network Engineer III, Design and Build, Network Engineer II, Design and Build, and Network Engineer II, Network Operations. In these roles, they were responsible for designing and building Rackspace's service provider backbone and data center environments. James actively participated in greenfield and remediation builds, and was part of a team that redefined network building approaches. Additionally, they performed tasks such as traffic engineering, troubleshooting network issues, mitigating DDoS attacks, assisting customers, and mentoring teammates. James also automated repetitive tasks using Python, Perl, and Bash scripts, showcasing their systems administration skills.

Before joining Rackspace, James worked as a Network Administrator Lead at Happy State Bank from 2009 to 2011. Here, they led network administration efforts within the organization. James also gained experience as a Problem Support Technician at First Data Corporation from 2005 to 2009, a Network Technician at West Texas A&M University from 2002 to 2005, a Network Analyst at 1Source Technologies in 2001, and a Broadband Network Technician at ARNet in 2001.

James Williams attended Southern New Hampshire University from 2022 to 2027, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology.
