Heather Ames Versace

Heather Ames Versace has worked in the field of neuroscience and neural technology since 2004. Heather began their career as a Research Assistant at Boston University in 2004. In 2006, they co-founded Neurala Inc. and became the COO, where they were responsible for innovation, strategic thinking, and operations. In 2010, they became the Associate Director of CompNet (Center for Computational Neuroscience and Neural Technology) at Boston University, managing personnel, budgets and finance, outreach, and strategic thinking. Heather also held the role of Research Assistant Professor and Co-PI and Executive Director of CELEST (NSF funded Science of Learning Center).

Heather Ames Versace completed their Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003. Heather then went on to pursue their PhD in Cognitive and Neural Systems from Boston University, which they completed in 2009.
