Matt Luciw

Matt Luciw is the Head of Research at Neurala, where they also served as Principal Scientist from 2015 to 2025. They completed their Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science at Michigan State University between 2003 and 2010. Prior to their current role, Matt was a Postdoctoral Researcher at IDSIA from 2010 to 2014 and held a Research Scientist position at the Center for Computational Neuroscience and Neural Technology from 2014 to 2015. They also gained experience as an intern at Microsoft Research in 2008 and were a Ph.D. student at Embodied Intelligence Lab from 2004 to 2010.
