Engineering Lead at Neuron

Ben Connon has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Ben is currently working as an Engineering Lead at Neuron since March 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Design Manager at Lucid Consulting Australia from October 2019 to February 2022.

Earlier in their career, Ben worked as an Engineer at UNO Management Services for 6 months in Darwin, NT, Australia. Their responsibilities included cost estimation, project management, HSE documentation, tender preparation, drafting, and concept & preliminary design.

Ben's academic background includes a PhD in Aerospace Sciences Research from the University of Glasgow. Their research focused on the use of engineering models for predicting pilot-induced oscillation in helicopters. Ben worked in this role for 8 months before transitioning to a career in industry.

Ben Connon completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Structural & Foundation Engineering from Heriot-Watt University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (B.Eng. Hons.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, which they pursued from 2006 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Ben Connon has acquired various certifications. These include the National Engineering Register from Engineers Australia, obtained in September 2020. Ben also obtained certifications from lynda.com, such as "Creating Revit Templates: Annotation," "Creating Revit Templates: Content," "Creating Revit Templates: System Settings," "Creating Revit Templates: Views and Sheets," "Designing Home Plans with Revit," "Managing Location Coordinates with Revit," "Phasing and Design Options in Revit," "Revit Architecture 2016 Essential Training (Metric)," "Revit Structure 2016 Essential Training," "Cert Prep: Revit MEP Mechanical and Plumbing Certified Professional," "Dynamo Essential Training," "MEP Families in Revit," "Navisworks Essential Training," "Revit 2017: Essential Training for MEP (Metric)," "Revit Construction Modeling Tools," and "Revit Families Workshop." These certifications were obtained between June 2015 and October 2016.
