Ray Mazza

Studio Creative Director & Co-Founder at Never Forget Games

Ray Mazza has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Ray is currently the Studio Creative Director and Co-Founder at Never Forget Games, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Creative Director at Zynga from 2019 to 2021. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Gram Games as the Creator of Merge Dragons. Ray was also the Lead Systems Designer at Super Evil Megacorp from 2016 to 2017.

Before their roles in the gaming industry, Mazza worked as an Indie Developer at Mazza Studios, LLC from 2014 to 2017. During this time, they independently developed a successful game called Merge Dragons and provided design consulting services to clients.

Mazza also has experience at major game development companies. Ray served as the Creative Director of The Sims 4 at Maxis from 2012 to 2014, where they led a team of designers and directed the overall game vision and design. Prior to that, they worked as the Lead Designer at Playfish from 2011 to 2012, where they provided concept direction and established best practices within the studio.

Earlier in their career, Mazza worked at Electronic Arts as a Lead Game Designer from 2009 to 2011, where they worked on The Sims 3: Late Night expansion pack and other titles. Ray also held the role of Game Designer for The Sims 3 from 2005 to 2009 and worked as a Software Engineer, scripting gameplay for The Sims 2 and expansion packs.

Before entering the gaming industry, Mazza designed and licensed a game called "The Perfect Present" as a self-employed game designer from 2003 to 2008. Ray also gained experience as an intern at Kodak's Research and Design Labs in 2002, where they developed a stereo 3D rendering engine and enhanced an existing engine.

Ray Mazza completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Physics at Colby College from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University between 2001 and 2003.
