New Beginnings Peer Support is an after-crisis domestic abuse service supporting women and their children who have previously been subjected to domestic abuse in North Yorkshire. 
We offer a person-centered tailored approach to each woman we support and believe in delivering whole-family support to ensure our younger generations are also given every opportunity to heal. Supporting our single mothers to be the best parents they can be despite an array of ongoing challenges the majority of our clients face.
Support includes 1:1 support, group support, donations, group chats, family activities, children's activity packs, women's self-care packs, study accountability, goal finding and goal setting, career support, client-volunteer pathway and signposting.
Our organisation follows the 6 principles of trauma-informed practice and aims to provide a platform from which our clients can experience post-traumatic growth, enabling positive steps forward to improve an individual's health and wellbeing and that of the wider community.
In addition to supporting our families New Beginnings believes the future improvement of the current abhorrent statistics surrounding domestic abuse lies with our younger generations fostering self-worth and healthy relationship habits including healthy boundaries and communication. With this in mind we work with youth projects, community organisations and educational facilities to share knowledge and awareness of domestic abuse.
