Greg Ackerman is a seasoned data professional with extensive experience in sports analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist for the New Jersey Devils since May 2025, Ackerman previously held roles as a Data Scientist and Sports Science Analyst with the Seattle Mariners, focusing on player evaluation and the development of mathematical models. Prior to this, Ackerman was employed at Leslie's as a Data Analyst and at the Arizona Diamondbacks as an Analyst in Business Analytics, where Greg developed a season ticket holder retention model. Earlier roles include stints as a Digital Analyst for the Kansas City Chiefs and as a Baseball Analytics Intern at Trackman, in addition to an internship with the Brooklyn Nets. Ackerman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Syracuse University and a Master’s Degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.
