Sam Wong is a seasoned multimedia reporter with extensive experience in science communication, currently working at New Scientist since September 2015. Prior to this role, Sam served as a Research Media Officer in the Medicine department at Imperial College London from July 2010 to July 2015, where responsibilities included writing press releases and organizing science-related events. Experience as a freelance writer for Guardian News & Media spanned from November 2009 to May 2014, interspersed with a brief internship in 2009 at the same outlet's science desk. Earlier, Sam contributed as a Science Media Officer for the British Heart Foundation, focusing on research communication and fundraising initiatives. Sam holds a Master’s Degree in Science Communication from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
