Empowering the Portuguese Space Industry

New Space Portugal project is a consortium that brings together 39 entities, with the aim of designing, developing, producing and launching Earth Observation satellites, placing Portugal at the forefront of global markets.
By the end of 2025, New Space Portugal will provide High and Very High-Resolution Earth Observation satellites with daily revisit, contributing to the Atlantic Constellation, and also SAR - Synthetic Aperture Radar and AIS/VDES - VHF Data Exchange System satellites.
In addition, New Space Portugal will create a digital platform called Digital Planet to merge data from multiple sources and provide value-added services.
The aim is to place Portugal in the first league of Earth Observation through Space, creating national capacity to not only accelerate the growth of the space industry in the country, but also placing Portugal at the forefront of a highly technological and promising sector for the future of our societies and a more sustainable Planet.
