Michael Coyle has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering field. In 1994, they began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota. Michael then worked at NetStar from 1996 to 1999 as a Technical Lead, and then at Ascend Communications in 1996 as a Technical Lead. In 1999, they moved to Caspian Networks as a Member of Technical Staff, and then to QLogic in 2006 as a Senior Principal Software Engineer and then as a Principal Software Engineer. In 2014, they were a Manager of Software Engineering at EMC Isilon, and then in 2016 they became a Principal Software Engineer at New Wave Design and Verification. In this role, they were the lead developer for a line-rate multi-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet network record and playback appliance, and they also served as the software architect for a 25/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet record and playback appliance. Additionally, they migrated the development team off of Subversion (SVN) and Bugzilla and onto GitLab running on Amazon AWS GovCloud with on-premises CI/CD using Docker containers and vagrant.
Michael Coyle attended Valparaiso University from 1989 to 1994, where they earned a B.S. in Computer Engineering with a focus on analog and digital circuits and systems.
