New West Data is North America’s only vertically-integrated Bitcoin miner and oil and gas producer specializing in monetizing stranded oil and natural gas reserves. The company operates 28 sites across four key geographies in Alberta, with more than 15 MW powering Bitcoin mining and over 300 bbl/d of oil production.

The Canadian oil and gas industry faces a significant challenge in profitably bringing natural gas to market due to infrastructure constraints. In many cases, producers flare or vent gas rather than monetize it. Eventually, companies may risk ceasing production, leaving wells stranded and contributing to the issue of wasted energy.

We address the issue head-on, monetizing natural gas at the wellhead by using it as an energy source to power on-site compute (Bitcoin mining), a form of digital egress. By turning a liability into a revenue stream, we transform these wells into profitable, longterm operations.

Our unique business model provides distinct advantages over both smaller oil and gas producers and Bitcoin miners:

- We own and operate our oil assets, giving us complete control over our energy costs and supply, which are a Bitcoin miner's largest expense. As a result, our cost per coin mined is at least 50% lower than other miners’ in North America.

- New West Data is run by oil and gas veterans with hands-on Bitcoin mining expertise: We have more than five years of experience liberating energy by mining Bitcoin.

- We have distinct and uncorrelated revenue streams that can withstand volatility in both the oil and Bitcoin markets. 

We are actively working to scale our operations and expand our footprint. With a significant addressable market of applicable oil wells in Alberta, our model is built for the long term, with each of our current operations projected to be economically viable for atleast a decade.
