Newbattle Abbey College is set in Midlothian in a historic building dating back to the 1100s.  We are an adult education institution and events venue where history, learning, and community come together.

We offer pathways to further education and university through our Social Science and Rural Skills courses, welcoming everyone—from school leavers to lifelong learners—into a nurturing environment defined by small class sizes and personal support.

Alongside our academic mission, we host conferences, events, meetings and celebrations across our beautiful event spaces.  Revenue generated from our venue hire is reinvested directly into the college, ensuring our students remain at the heart of everything we do.
