Peter Cochran

Peter Cochran is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the design and testing of engineering components across various sectors. Currently at newcleo since February 2022, Peter focuses on the design of nuclear core components for lead-cooled fast reactors and serves as the technical unit coordinator for the core mechanics unit. Prior to this role, Peter worked at Leonardo Engineers for Integration from November 2020 to January 2022, where responsibilities included automotive project development, mechanical testing of combustion engine components, and vehicle suspension system design. Peter's foundational experience includes a position at UGRacing, where Peter served as Head of Powertrain from 2017 to 2020, managing the design and testing of the internal combustion powertrain system for the university's Formula Student team. Peter holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, earned in 2020.
