Chief Scientific Offiocer/Chief Operating Officer, Infectious Disease Division at NewLink Genetics

Thomas Monath has been working in the field of infectious diseases since 1973. Thomas began their career as the Director of DVBVD at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 1973. In 1989, they became the Chief Virology Division at USAMRIID. In 1992, they held the role of CSO at Acambis and also became an Adjunct Professor at the Harvard School of Public Health. In 2006, they became a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. In 2012, they founded Monath Consulting and held the role of Managing Partner. In 2014, they became the Chief Scientific Officer/Chief Operating Officer of the Infectious Disease Division at NewLink Genetics, where they were responsible for the research and development of vaccines against infectious diseases. In 2017, they became the Managing Partner and Chief Scientific Officer at Crozet BioPharma LC.

Thomas Monath attended Harvard University from 1958 to 1962, where they earned an AB in Biology, General. Thomas then attended Harvard Medical School from 1962 to 1966, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD).
