David Avraham, PhD, is a multidisciplinary R&D professional with over 10 years of experience in algorithm and research engineering, specializing in machine learning and signal & image processing. Currently serving as a Senior System and Algorithm Engineer at NewPhotonics since 2025, David previously worked as a Physics Instructor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and as an Algorithm Engineer in the Israeli Air Force, where they developed advanced algorithms for satellite systems and defense applications. As the CTO and Co-Founder of WiSP, David designed cutting-edge algorithms for substance detection and managed an R&D team, while also contributing to multiple patents in spectroscopy. David earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Electro-optical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Biomedical Engineering.
