Æbbas Lotfi is a discipline lead for Cable System Electrical Studies with over 20 years of experience in project engineering, research, and academia. They hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and have been instrumental in high voltage cable projects aimed at advancing Europe's energy transition. Since 2015, Æbbas has contributed to various CIGRE working groups, focusing on topics such as thermal modeling and grounding design for HVDC cable systems. Currently, Æbbas serves as a Principal Engineer at Nexans, leading the discipline in system studies and analysis methods.
