Nexev Pty Ltd is an Australian healthcare AI company focused on improving patient safety and clinical decision-making in haemodialysis. Nexev is developing DIALIQ™, a real-time clinical decision support system designed to predict and prevent intradialytic hypotension (IDH), one of the most frequent and clinically significant complications during dialysis treatment.
IDH occurs in a substantial proportion of haemodialysis sessions and is associated with acute symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and loss of consciousness, as well as long-term consequences including myocardial stunning, cerebral hypoperfusion, increased hospitalisation rates, and higher mortality. Despite its prevalence and impact, dialysis care today remains largely reactive. Blood pressure is measured intermittently, and ultrafiltration rates are adjusted only after hypotension has already occurred, using static protocols that do not reflect the patient’s dynamic physiological state.
Nexev addresses this gap by applying advanced machine learning to high-frequency dialysis and physiological data. DIALIQ™ continuously analyses dialysis machine parameters, intradialytic blood pressure trends, and patient-specific clinical context to estimate hypotension risk in real time, before overt blood pressure collapse occurs. The system is designed to support clinicians rather than replace them, delivering interpretable risk estimates and practical guidance that integrate seamlessly into existing dialysis workflows without adding alert fatigue.
