Fred Smits

Fred Smits is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in process and product integration within the semiconductor industry. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Process Integration Engineer at Nexperia since March 2023, Fred is focused on maintaining front-end process technologies and driving improvement activities. Prior to this, Fred held various roles at Ampleon from December 2015 to February 2023, including Senior Principal Product Engineer, where responsibilities included technology platform development and assessability for manufacturability. Fred also worked at NXP Semiconductors from October 1999 to November 2015, contributing as a Principal Product Engineer and Principal Process Engineer, and has past experience with Motorola SPS and Philips Semiconductors. Fred holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven.
