Marlene Mayr has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Junior Game Programmer at Next Games, which they began in October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Sustainability Coordinator at Hochschülerinnen- und Hochschülerschaft der FH Oberösterreich from February 2020 to June 2021, where they promoted sustainability within the university and student's union and implemented projects and campaigns driven by students.

In August 2020, Marlene worked as a Camp Counselor at ComputerCamp - CC GmbH. Marlene also served as a Tutor at Hagenberg Campus - FH Upper Austria from October 2018 to March 2020. In July 2019, they worked as a Camp Counselor again at ComputerCamp - CC GmbH.

During their studies, Marlene took an internship as a Unity Developer at Innerspace from March 2019 to July 2019, where they were involved in the development and testing of VR trainings. Marlene worked on software architecture, Unity tools, localization, VR UI, and UX. Prior to that, from July 2018 to August 2018, they worked as a Camp Counselor at ComputerCamp - CC GmbH.

To begin their professional journey, Marlene worked as a Test Engineer at BLICKICHT from October 2017 to June 2018.

Marlene Mayr pursued their education at Hagenberg Campus - FH Upper Austria. From 2016 to 2019, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Media Technology and Design. Marlene continued their academic journey and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Game and Interactive Media Design from the same institution between 2019 and 2021.
