Ozan Kalan's work experience begins in 2015 with an Android Developer Intern role at UW-Parkside App Factory, where they worked on building products for clients. Ozan then joined Vokal as an Android-Apprentice, where they participated in a three-month program and worked on client projects involving health and fitness applications. Ozan continued at Vokal as an Android Engineer, working on various client projects and gaining experience with libraries and features such as in-app payments and Google Maps.
In 2016, Kalan worked as an Android Engineer at Eight Bit Studios on a short freelance contract, where they researched video/audio codecs and built proof of concepts. Ozan then joined Outcome Health (formerly ContextMedia) as an Android Engineer, contributing to a large-scale platform used to educate patients in physicians' waiting rooms and exam rooms.
Kalan later worked as a Principal Software Engineer (Android) at Actualize Therapy from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, they started their own venture called Name TBD, focusing on providing charging solutions for electric vehicle owners and businesses while addressing climate crisis concerns. Ozan also worked briefly as a Freelance Sales Software Engineer at Futurehaus.
In 2020, Kalan joined Camp Gladiator as a Senior Android Developer, and in 2022, they joined Autonomy as a Lead/Senior Staff Android Software Engineer.
Throughout their career, Kalan has gained diverse experience in Android development, collaborating on projects, and continuously learning new skills and insights for the platform.
Ozan Kalan began their education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2008, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Applied Health Sciences with a focus on Pre Physical Therapy. Ozan completed this program in 2012. In 2013, Ozan Kalan returned to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2015.
