Craig Scroggie is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of NEXTDC, responsible for driving the business to become one of the world’s fastest growing technology companies. Craig is well-regarded as a highly successful and passionate leader whose experience spans the IT and telecommunications industries globally.

Under Craig’s leadership, NEXTDC has grown from a start-up technology infrastructure company developing its first data centre (B1 Brisbane) to an ASX Top 100 Public Company recognised as Australia’s leading data centre as a service company and one of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies, boasting a national footprint of nine data centres across Australia, with an additional two facilities currently in construction. The company’s annual data centre services revenues have grown from $1.2 million (FY12) to exceeding $205.5 million (1H21).

In that time, the Company has earned a plethora of accolades in the technology, business and engineering industries. In 2017, NEXTDC’s B2 Brisbane and M2 Melbourne data centres were the first data centres in Australia to achieve Tier IV Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF). Additionally, NEXTDC became the first data centre in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve Tier IV Gold certification for Operational Sustainability. Furthermore, NEXTDC are the only data centre operator in Australia to achieve a NABERS 5-star rating for energy efficiency. In 2018 NEXTDC were awarded the DataCenter Dynamic’s global accolades of Best Global Design Team and Best Operations Teams of the Year. In 2019, NEXTDC were named by Frost & Sullivan as the Global Company of the Year for excellence in growth, delivering exceptional customer value and product superiority based on the Company’s commitment to innovation. In 2020, NEXTDC were named as the industry leader by Frost & Sullivan in the Frost Radar index.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Craig served as a Non-Executive Director of NEXTDC for 18 months and as Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee. Craig has previously held senior leadership positions with Symantec, Veritas Software, Computer Associates, EMC Corporation and Fujitsu. Craig is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Australian Sales & Marketing Institute.

Craig has twice served as a judge in the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner’s Australian Privacy Awards, and twice given evidence as an expert witness in the Australian Government Standing Committee on Communications Inquiry into Cyber Crime, and the Federal Parliament Joint Select Committee on Cyber Safety.

Craig is a Graduate of the University of Southern Queensland and holds an Advanced Certificate in Information Technology, a Graduate Certificate in Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, and a Master of Business Administration. In 2013 Mr Scroggie was awarded the University of Southern Queensland Faculty of Business & Law Alumnus of the Year, and in 2015 he was inducted into the ARN ICT Industry Awards Hall of Fame.
