James Mactaggart

James Mactaggart is the SVP of LNG Marketing for Asia and the Middle East at NextDecade. James has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry, with a focus on gas and LNG marketing. Prior to joining NextDecade, James was the General Manager of LNG Marketing North East Asia at Sakhalin Energy. James also spent time at Shell in various roles, including Business Development Adviser – South East Asia, and General Manager, New Gas and LNG Markets in Asia, India and MENA.

James Mactaggart's educational career began at Beijing Normal University, where they studied Chinese. James then transferred to SOAS University of London to study Classical and Modern Chinese, and later completed a BA Honours in Chinese Language and Literature. Finally, they obtained an MBA from Bayes Business School in General and Strategic Management.

James Mactaggart reports to Matthew Schatzman, Chairman & CEO. They work with Ivan Van Der Walt - Project Manager, Rio Grande LNG, Alfonso Puga - SVP, LNG Marketing, Europe & Americas, and Erik Ludtke - Chief Commercial Officer.
