Michael Birch

Michael Birch has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Michael is currently working at NextDecade as the Senior Director - Maintenance. Prior to that, they worked as the General Manager - Energy at AusGroup Limited | AGC | MAS | from September 2021 to April 2023. Michael also served as the Maintenance Manager MZLNG at Total from August 2019 to July 2021 and as the Maintenance Manager DSLNG at PT Donggi-Senoro LNG - Mitsubishi Corporation from July 2015 to July 2019. Before that, they held the position of Maintenance Manager QCLNG at QCLNG BG Group from February 2011 to July 2015. Michael started their career at Alcoa as a Refinery E / I Technician (apprentice) from January 1997 to December 2000. Michael has also held various roles at BHP, including Offshore Commissioning / Maintenance Superintendent, Offshore Maintenance Superintendent, FPSO Production & Maintenance Specialist, E&I Engineer / Supervisor Minerva Gas Plant, and Gas Plant Shift Maintenance Supervisor.

From 2009 to 2014, Michael Birch pursued a Master's degree in Engineering Maintenance Management / Asset Management at CQUniversity.
