Andrew Barnes

Andrew Barnes has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software development. Andrew is currently a full stack engineer at Nextdoor, where they focus on improving the Nextdoor feed and serves as an observability evangelist for new hires. Prior to that, they worked at Walmart Global eCommerce as a software engineer, where they designed and launched a multi-tenant email marketing tool and scaled the email system to handle high volumes. Before that, they worked at PunchTab as a web engineer, where they built and launched consumer-facing programs and optimized content delivery. Andrew also has experience as a computer science tutor at Denison University, where they provided instruction and assistance in coding and problem-solving, and as a student network assistant and computer technician, where they troubleshooted network and computer issues. Additionally, they worked as a software development intern at Infor, where they implemented new functionality and participated in an agile software development process.

Andrew Barnes obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Denison University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they also acquired the certification in "iOS and Swift Essentials" from Big Nerd Ranch in July 2020.
