David Throop has over 40 years of experience in the manufacturing and engineering industry. David began their career in 1979 as a Test/Manufacturing Supervisor/Manufacturing Engineer at SCI, Inc. In 1994, they took on the role of Director of Engineering at CMC Industries, where they were responsible for the Process, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineers as well as Test, and Safety/Regulatory personnel. In 1999, they became Director of Engineering at Amitek, where they facilitated the transition from one manufacturing location into a larger facility. In 2000, they were Contract Manufacturing Manager (Outsourcing) at Nortel Networks, where they were responsible for the review, audit, and selection of suppliers for the Nortel Network products. In 2002, they were Engineering Manager at Sparton Corporation, where they were responsible for Technology Roadmap development, expenditure reviews/approvals, Operating Procedure originator, Project reviews, resource allocations, recruit/assign/direct employees, develop staff competence, set technical goals, equipment evaluations, capital equipment justifications/contracts, facility planning and layout developer, labor estimate calculations, budget/bid/contract preparation, Lean/Kaizen trainer/facilitator. In 2008, they took on the role of Sr. Process Engineer NPE at Adtran, where they were responsible for the introduction of new products into the manufacturing realm and coordinating the efforts of Design, Test, Quality, Cad Layout, Manufacturing and Compliance through bi-weekly product review meetings. From 2015 to present, they have been Sr. Director of Quality & Compliance, Sr. Director of Manufacturing, Ops Quality, & Prototype Services, Director of Operations and Ops Quality, and Director of Quality at Nextek, Incorporated.
David Throop holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering Technology from Southeast Missouri State University and an A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from J.C. Calhoun Community College. David also holds certifications from the Albuqueque Chapter in APICS - Basics of Supply Chain Management, Strategic Management of Resources, and Execution and Control of Operations, as well as a Nation Lean Certification from MEP, Albuquerque, NM.
