Michael Orrill

Michael Orrill, PhD, is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at NextFlex, where they have contributed since 2022 after serving as a Mechanical Engineer from 2020 to 2022. Michael earned a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from The George Washington University, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, investigating scalable manufacturing methods for nanomaterials from 2014 to 2019. Prior to their graduate studies, Michael gained valuable experience at Northern Arizona University as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and Supplemental Instructor and also worked at Fratelli Pizza as a Cook. Additionally, they participated in a competitive Research for Undergraduates program at the University of New Mexico in 2013, focusing on reducing solar cell material costs.
