Matthew Farwell has extensive experience in software engineering and project management. Matthew is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Nexthink, where they are responsible for leading a team in the development and deployment of a multi-tenant microservice for Access Rights Management. Matthew utilizes technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Scala, TypeScript, and React JS. Prior to this, they worked at SQLI as a Chef de Projet Technique, managing various projects for clients such as Nespresso and Etat de Vaud. Matthew played a key role in writing technical and functional specifications, conducting code and architecture reviews, and implementing performance improvements. Matthew also gained experience in test optimization and knowledge transfer during a consultancy project for Nagravision. Before joining SQLI, Matthew worked at Yorkshire Building Society as a Principal Analyst, where they designed data models for Struts and XSLT for internet applications related to mortgages and savings accounts. Matthew also has experience as a Senior Analyst/Developer at ARMATURE LTD, where they developed new modules for costing and purchasing stock for supermarkets and managed a team of developers. During their early career, Matthew worked as a Software Engineer at Unipro Ltd., where they developed a process control and fault diagnosis application, and as a System Administrator at PC User Group.

Matthew Farwell attended the University of Bradford from 1987 to 1990 but did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study. In terms of certifications, they obtained the "Data Science Specialization" from Coursera in December 2020, the "Exercise Physiology: Understanding the Athlete Within" certification in September 2013, and the "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" certification in November 2012, all from Coursera.
