Alaa Samir has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. They began their career at Nokia Siemens Networks in 2010 as an intern in the role of Radio Performance and Optimization. They then worked at DZS as a GPON-FTTX Support Engineer from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Ericsson as a RAN Performance Engineer and later held positions such as RAN & Core Performance lead, Senior RAN 3G/LTE Network Consultant, and MS RAN Technical Improvement Task Manager. Their last role at Ericsson was as a 5G Solution Architect-NPI Lead from 2018 to 2022. Currently, Alaa Samir is working at Nextivity as a Solutions Architect Oceania & APAC starting from 2022.

Alaa Samir completed a Master's degree in Master of IT Management (Executive) at the University of Melbourne from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2011, they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Jordan. In 2010, Alaa also obtained an Official Certificate in 4G LTE from Universitat de Barcelona.

In addition to their formal education, Alaa Samir has obtained several certifications. The certifications were obtained between 2015 and 2022 from institutions such as Ericsson, AXELOS Global Best Practice, and the Project Management Institute.
