Markku Suomi has a comprehensive work experience in the technology industry. Markku started their career at Nokia in 1995, where they held various managerial roles in product planning, product management, and business strategy until 2008. At Nokia, they directed a 15-member staff, leading the Lumia North America product management team. Markku was responsible for conceptualizing and developing global smartphones and US operator-specific products. During this time, the Lumia 900 received the Best of Show award at CES 2012. Markku also managed the product lifecycle for 30 US variants, working with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
After leaving Nokia, Markku Suomi joined Microsoft in 2014 as a Director of Product Management before moving to HP in the same year. At HP, they served as the Senior Director of Product and Portfolio Planning, achieving significant product line gross margin growth and leading the concepting of the HP Elite x3, a highly successful 3-in-1 product.
In 2020, Markku Suomi joined iRobot as the VP of New Business Product Management, where they oversaw the development of new products. Markku held this role until March 2023, when they transitioned to their current position as the Vice President of Product Management at Nextivity.
