Rob Daley

Vice President of Software at Nextivity

Rob Daley has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Rob is currently serving as the Vice President of Software at Cel-Fi by Nextivity since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Principal at OneWeb from July 2018.

Before joining OneWeb, Rob worked at Qualcomm for many years in various roles. Rob served as the Senior Director Engineering at Qualcomm - Corporate Research and Development from January 2014 to the present. In this role, they were responsible for managing and leading the Advanced Technology Group, a research group focused on exploring new products and businesses in strategic areas outside of Qualcomm's core focus.

Prior to their role at Qualcomm - Corporate Research and Development, Rob was the Senior Director, Technology at Qualcomm - MediaFlo Technologies from January 2003 to January 2006. Here, they were the technical lead for the Real-time Media Subsystem, which delivered up to 30 simultaneous channels to mobile devices.

Rob also worked as the Principal Engineer at Qualcomm - Technology and Ventures from January 2002 to January 2003, where they served as the software lead for the PicoCell project. This project aimed to develop a low-cost and low-power base station using Qualcomm components.

Before that, Rob worked at Qualcomm - Digital Cineman from January 2000 to January 2002 as a Principal Engineer. Rob played a crucial role in the design and leadership of the video encoder for the Digital Cinema system, which involved encoding, encryption, transmission, decoding, and projection of movies.

From January 1998 to January 2000, Rob served as the Principal Engineer at Qualcomm - Digital Media. Here, they worked on a secure cell phone project for government contract, focusing on high-level software design and overall project leadership.

At Qualcomm - Commercial Base Station from January 1993 to January 1998, Rob held the position of Principal Engineer. Rob was responsible for the software design and leadership of the CDMA Base Station software, which included call processing and network management.

Prior to joining Qualcomm, Rob was a Staff Engineer at Talton/Louley from January 1986 to January 1990. As a co-founder and principal, they were involved in various aspects of the company's operations.

Overall, Rob Daley has extensive experience in software engineering, research and development, and technical leadership, primarily in the telecommunications industry.

Rob Daley earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana. Additionally, they obtained various certifications in Data Science from edX, including certificates for Computational Thinking with Python, Inferential Thinking through Simulations, R Basics, and Visualization, all obtained in May 2021.
