Simon Greenwood

Founder - CTO - Architect - Developer at Nextminute

Simon Greenwood has a diverse work experience in the technology sector. In 1985, they worked as a Grinder for the America's Cup, where they built relationships with influential individuals and gained valuable skills. In 1992, they built and sold NZ's first student management system, StudentBase, generating significant revenue. From 1995 to 2004, Simon co-founded and led Greenwood Technology Limited, growing it to over 100 employees and securing substantial investment. During this time, the company provided bespoke software solutions and pioneered cloud hosting infrastructure. In 2005, Simon founded Greenwood Online Ltd, offering web development and hosting services to large New Zealand corporates. Simon also developed NZ's first online Life Insurance portal. In 2008, Simon founded NextMinute and successfully built a global tradesman and construction B2B solution. Simon secured investment funding to expand the business, which now serves thousands of customers worldwide. Since 2018, Simon has worked as a Senior Information Technology Consultant for Greenwood Founder Ltd, addressing challenging technical projects and designing critical systems.

Simon Greenwood attended The University of Auckland from 1987 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Property degree in the field of Business/Commerce, General. Later, from 2000 to 2002, they pursued Information Technology and studied Computer Science at The University of Auckland.
