Sameet Deshpande

Sameet Deshpande has over 20 years of experience in the navigation and timing technology field. Sameet began their career in 1999 as a Systems Engineer at Accord Software. In 2002, they took on a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Calgary in Geomatics Engineering. In 2004, they returned to Accord Software as a Project Leader, where they were responsible for the system and software design for an Avionics GPS receiver certified for DO-299D standard with DO-178B and DO-254 process standards. In 2007, they joined SiRF Technologies as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they were responsible for the design and implementation of a multi-GNSS chipset targeted for mobile devices. In 2013, they moved to Samsung Research India as an Indoor Positioning + Location Strategy. Since 2014, they have been with Commlabs/NextNav, first as a Principal Engineer/Systems Lead/Product Lead and later as the TerraPoiNT team leader. During their tenure at Commlabs/NextNav, they developed a terrestrial navigation system which was ranked #1 in navigation and timing aspects by the US Department of Transportation (DoT) among technologies alternate to GNSS.

Sameet Deshpande completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from Gogte Institute of Technology between 1995 and 1999. Sameet then went on to pursue a Master's degree in GPS from the University of Calgary, which they completed in 2004.
